Ah, Opera! 'Tis 'the food of love' - and hate - and lust - and revenge. If you don't understand Italian, or German, or French, or Russian, or Czech, that's okay because the meaning comes through anyway in the orchestration and the voice. Actually, it's best if you don't try to analyse opera but just allow yourself to sit back and enjoy the experience. Think of it as a massage for the soul.

Opera is a music of passion. It will take you on a roller coaster ride - up, down and around. It can bring you close to tears, send a shiver down your spine and, with certain notes, even raise the hair on your arms. It is a physical adventure as well as an emotional one. And it is addictive.

If you've found this website then you're either already a dyed-in-the-wool fan or you've just discovered opera and are curious to learn more. Television commercials and the MET live broadcasts can take a good bit of credit for bringing 'newbies' to opera. Welcome! Our guild is always evolving and is eager to include people like you, who have an interest in opera and the desire to share it. We are looking for new input so please come to our next meeting. Consider it a personal invitation.
